Andreas Buchwald is the guitarist and founder of REMAIN IN SILENCE. Formed in 1983, the band stood stylistically in the tradition of UK bands of the post-punk and new wave era. They are considered as one of the early representatives of the German Goth Rock and Dark Wave scene.

A. Buchwald led the band until their last album "...and the soul goes on".

In 2022 A. Buchwald moved forward and continues working solo as BUCHWALD. His music could be categorized as Cinematic Post Wave.

With ESCAPE FROM WHAT LIFE IS his first solo work is released on Sireena Records in 2023.
